Motivation, teambuilding and entertainment in the MICE field

Si intitolava così il seminario da me tenuto per la Facoltà di Economia dell’Università degli Studi di Catania, all’interno del ciclo sul “Turismo congressuale e degli eventi aggregativi” organizzato dal gentilissimo prof. Benedetto Puglisi.

10 relatori preparatissimi e di alto livello, da Ivana Termine (Finivest Congressi) a Nico Torrisi (presidente di Confturismo e Federalberghi Catania), hanno coperto in maniera completa l’intera filiera del mondo MICE, presentandolo in maniera realistica e accurata.

Per me, è stata un’esperienza divertente e utile; inoltre, sono orgoglioso di ammetterlo, anche io ho imparato tanto in quelle poche ore.

Inoltre, da quel momento, ho cominciato a ricevere molte email personali da studenti che volevano approfondire l’argomento, chiedendomi titoli di libri da leggere, o semplicemente i requisiti necessari per lavorare nel nostro campo.

Cercherò di rispondere ad alcune di queste domande nei miei prossimi post.

The one above was the title of the seminar I ran for the business college of the University of Catania, as a part of a series on “Tourism: the congress and business events field” scheduled and arranged by professor Benedetto Puglisi.

10 qualified top-level speakers, like Ivana Termine (Finivest Congressi) or Nico Torrisi (president of Confturismo and Federalberghi Catania), completely covered the MICE supply chain, introducing it in a complete and thorough way.

For me, it was a fun and rewarding experience; and, I’m proud to admit it, I learned a lot!

Besides, from that moment on, I’ve received a lot of personal emails from students who wanted to go deeper into the matter, asking me for titles of books to study, or simply the qualifications and skills needed to work in the field.

I will try to answer a lot of these questions in the following posts.

WE'RE BACK!

Ebbene si: il mio ultimo post risale addirittura al 2 giugno dello scorso anno!
Cosa è successo?
Innanzitutto, alcuni importanti e prestigiosi eventi MICE hanno rubato tutto il mio tempo;
poi, una serie di rivoluzioni lavorative ci hanno portato a un importante rinnovamento del nostro staff;
e infine, una colossale operazione di aggiornamento del nostro logo, del nostro sito (presto nuovamente online), della nostra strategia di comunicazione mi ha strappato pure le ultime energie residue.

E ora, al primo respiro di sollievo, finalmente rieccomi qui, a cercare di dare nuova vita a questo mio blog, con tanti, troppi spunti già stipati nel serbatoio della mia mente.
Aspettatevi di tutto!

That's it: my last post on this blog is dated June 2nd, 2008!
What happened?
First of all, some important and prestigious MICE events robbed me of all of my time;
Next, a revolution in our company brought us to an important renewal of our staff members;
And finally, a massive operation of updating our logo, internet site (soon to be online), and communication strategies worn out my last energies.

Now, at my first sigh of relief, I’m here again, to give new life to this blog, with a lot of new ideas yet crammed inside my mind.
